Frequently Asked Question #83:

Q: What property taxes are payable in Italy - and how can I reduce them?

A: For properties that don't generate an income, there are two yearly property taxes in Italy: one is called ICI (pronounced 'itchy' - Imposta Communale sugli Immobili), the other is a local tax (whose name varies from region to region) that covers locally-supplied services such as refuse collection and street cleaning.
