The Situation : This elegant country estate occupies a commanding position on a hillside near a small, historic town to the west of Aqui Terme. The House: The impressive L-shaped brick-built house is south-facing and has been renovated and extended to high standards, maintaining its impressive character and many of its original features. Some of the rooms have traditional vaulted brick ceilings, there are two authentic open fireplaces, and all floors of the house are laid with terracotta tiles. First floor: Wooden stairs lead from the entrance hall on the ground floor to a landing. On the first floor there are currently a family bathroom and 4 spacious south-facing bedrooms, including a master bedroom with dressing room, ensuite bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the garden and the rolling hills of the Monferrato countryside.

Outside A tarmac-surfaced private drive with an electric entrance gate leads from the small country road below up to a spacious courtyard, the house and the gardens. The grounds include an oval-shaped swimming-pool, a tennis court, an underground double garage, a storage area, a shower and a WC accessible from the garden. The grounds also feature an orchard stocked with various fruit trees.

Sporting facilities: There are a number of golf-courses in Southern Piedmont. The nearest, Le Colline in Acqui Terme, can be reached by car in 20 minutes. The excellent network of small, tarmac-surfaced country roads makes the area very popular with cyclists. The beaches of the Italian Riviera are a one hour drive away, and popular Italian ski resorts can be reached by motorway within a one to one-and-a-half hour drive.
