Acqui Terme Historic Center
In the historic center of the ancient Roman spa town of Acqui Terme, the so-called Borgo Pisterna, these two very attractive apartments are for sale separately. The building in which Apartment 1 is located is a well-renovated medieval palazzo with a large courtyard. Apartment 2 is located in a neighbouring medieval building that overlooks the same courtyard. Both apartments are very quiet; most of Borgo Pisterna is closed to non-resident motor traffic.
The 'Pisterna' was built in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries within the ancient walls of the city, and widely restored in the second half of the 20th century. Today, the Pisterna with its historic buildings and elegant squares - especially the Piazza della Bollente, a local landmark with its impressive marble fountain gushing 74.5 degree sulphurous water - is an attraction for locals and tourists alike. Here you can find unique and stylish shops, excellent restaurants, tiny discreet squares, and narrow, romantic streets.
The large twice-weekly market, and a few supermarkets, are within easy walking distance of the apartments, and the spa facilities of the city, including one of the largest outdoor pools in Italy, can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. Acqui Terme, with about 20,000 inhabitants, is a lively spa town with a number of hotels, a golf course, a hospital, schools, theaters, etc., and an extensive cultural program throughout the year.
The motorway can be reached from Acqui Terme in 20 minutes, and the international airports of Milan, Turin and Genoa, as well as the beaches of the Riviera in Liguria and the ski resorts of the Western Alps, can be reached in less than 90 minutes by car. By train one can also easily reach Genoa and the Ligurian coast from Acqui Terme.
Apartment 1
The 120 m² apartment is on two floors, and was restored and renovated by the current owner 5 years ago. The result is a bright, spacious penthouse apartment with attractive views of the city and the surrounding vineyards. A parking space in the courtyard belongs to the apartment.
Accommodation
The front door leads into a large, attractive living room adjoining a small kitchen, a dining area, a balcony and a staircase that leads to an open gallery under the roof. Here are located a work studio, a small guest bathroom and an enclosed storage room.
Adjacent to the living room is a second large living room with a large ceiling-height gallery window, glazed with mirror glass and therefore opaque from the outside. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view over the rooftops to the vineyards outside the town. A staircase leads from this living room to a second gallery. This is currently used as a sleeping area - it would be possible to expand this gallery, possibly with a rooftop terrace.
A door leads from the living room into a large bedroom with an antique vaulted ceiling, and a modern bathroom next to it. All the rooms are spacious and have natural light.
Apartment 2
Apartment 2 is located in the neighbouring apartment building, overlooking the courtyard of Apartment 1. A few steps lead up to the apartment, which is located on the upper ground floor. There is ample parking in the neighbourhood for the residents of the town.
Accommodation
The front door leads into a spacious foyer with a balcony and then to a modern kitchen / dining area. Adjacent to this is a large living room with a dining area and two large windows. A door leads from the living room into a bedroom with a bathroom and dressing room. All the rooms have high vaulted ceilings and are airy, elegant and very quiet.

Both apartments have electricity, mains water, main gas, central heating and internet access.
Sports Facilities
There are a number of golf courses in South Piedmont. The nearest, Le Colline, can be reached by car in 10 minutes. Horse riding is popular in the area, and there is a livery stable nearby. The dense network of paved roads makes the region particularly attractive for cyclists, and the ski resorts of the Western Alps are not far away.

Our personal opinion: these elegant apartments tick the top 3 boxes - location, location and location. They are ready to move into, and have very good rental potential - either as long-term or as vacation rentals.
